Linksys WRT1900ACS wifi speed issue

Post by qrong »

Hi all,

First time poster, forgive me if there is a similar topic existing previously. :D
Basically I successfully flushed the 1900ACS by using the shelby image from Lantis, everything works as expected so far. Thanks Lantis. ;)
My home broadband is FTTP NBN, which is planned as 100/40 Mbs. If I wired-connected my laptop to the NBN box, I could easily reach more than 90 Mbs. However it could only touched roughly 50Mbs if the laptop connected wirelessly. Is it same thing occurred to everyone or just me? :?:

Thanks for everyone in advance.

Are you connected via 2.4GHz or 5GHz? 802.11N? AC?
More details are required to give you a proper answer :)

Thanks Lantis. The laptop was connected through via 5GHz. By the it connected, no other devices were using the net. Thanks a lot

You didn't tell me whether 802.11N or AC was enabled.

What is the speed reported by the Status->Connected Hosts page?
Low throughput sounds more like a driver issues at this stage than anything else, but it could also be a congestion issue if you have many networks around you (unlikley on 5ghz).

Hi mate did you flash the file from the newgui folder? I think that the files from the newgui folder have updated drivers in them.

Do you have QoS or other features enabled? My Archer router throughput varies greatly based on the settings / rules.

As noted before, both devices need AC enabled to get higher throughtput.

Good luck
