Blacklist devices

Post by RealGandy »

I have a TPLink WA850RE as an extender running latest gargoyle and I want to be able to blacklist a device so it cannot connect to this extender.

I've followed the instructions from here:
https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=13660

But the device still connects... so is it possible to blacklist and if so, how does one do so?

Thanks for any help.

Could you not use the "Wireless MAC Filter" from this page in the documentation?

Rather than rooting around with things at the command line.

I scoured all the UI options for MAC filtering, but I suspect because I am running in repeater mode, I do not have those options available.

Thanks

That is probably correct.

So where did you get to with the above instructions? Are you confident you implemented them correctly?
Can we see the output of "cat /etc/config/wireless" please?

I think I have it working now, I hadn't read the article properly and didn't spot the two options for 'macfilter' or 'macpolicy' depending on the chipset.

All seems to be working as hoped now.

Thanks.
