Cannot upgrage from 1.8.1 to 1.9.X/1.9.1 on Linksys WRT610N

Post by fifonik »

Trying to upgrade from 1.8.1 to 1.9.X on my testing Linksys WRT610N v1.

Downloaded "gargoyle-ispy 2016-November-01 08_38.7z", extracted file gargoyle_1.9.x-brcm47xx-generic-linksys-wrt610n-v1-squashfs.bin, resetted 1.8.1 to default settings, tried to to firmware upgrade using web ui (in firefox) -- got message "Upgrading, please wait". Nothing happened after 1, 5, 15 minutes of waiting.
Tried to do the same using another browser (chrome) -- no changes.

Tried to to the same using "gargoyle_1.9.1-brcm47xx-generic-linksys-wrt610n-v1-squashfs.bin" firmware -- with the same results.

Connected to routed using SSH, uploaded FW to /tmp, issued commant "sysupgrade -n /tmp/gargoyle_1.9.1-brcm47xx-generic-linksys-wrt610n-v1-squashfs.bin" got message that I have to use trx file only. (btw, found .bin file in /tmp/up/ folder, looks like this is the file that was uploaded through web ui).

Unfortunately, I do not know where should I get it. In "gargoyle-ispy 2016-November-01 08_38.7z" there is only "gargoyle_1.9.x-brcm47xx-generic-standard-squashfs.trx" trx file for broadcom.

Any help?

The generic TRX file is the correct upgrade file

Silly me. Looks like I missed this.
Upgraded through web ui successfully.

Many thanks.
