Thanks Gingernut...and have u tried Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH flash from DD-Wrt to Gargoyle with the MTD command above-mentioned? Or flash first with OpenWRT then flash to Gargoyle? What do u think of that?

Cheers mate

Well I haven't tried the mtd flashing method using Gargoyle but from dd-wrt to openwrt worked fine.

Ha! I have buffalo stock firmware and tried sysupgrade.bin and fail. Now I have to try tftp.bin. It's not fun doing tftp on windows.

OK!

Just got my WZR-HP-G300NH in the mail today.

Will try and upgrade tomorrow - on my way to work.

What's been the best method to upgrade this?

Anyone try or still working on it?

I have a bunch of DD-WRT files, Buffalo files, and the Gargoyle 1.3.5
files all downloaded already, and I found the info about the
Magic Number headers for flashing via TFTP, etc.

Is the best method (that works) so far, the command where you
have DD-WRT already on the router, you telnet in, and you
download the Gargoyle firmware via http:// and then mtd write?

That looks like the main one that works since it seems there
are problems getting the Gargoyle/OpenWRT loaded via TFTP?

Yea... You cannot catch the TFTP time window correctly if you
are using Windows 7 or Windows Vista... you have to use a
Windows XP machine or a Linux machine

Only other option is possibly a hub/switch between the
Windows 7 / Windows Vista machine and the router - that way
the network port on your computer is kept active

I'll be playing around with the flashing on this all weekend, just got
a couple more nights at work than about 5 days off of playtime!

Is there a way to force G300NH to stay in TFTP mode? My draytek 2900VG can do it. That makes TFTP upgrade so much easier.

Or a firmware upgrade through the dd-wrt GUI.
