All reflashing did was reinitiate the wifi causing it to scan for other networks again.
It is an intended feature, by law.

Re: Wifi invisible for some devices
I'm getting the same wifi 5GHz disappearance from time to time too. Did you factory reset on the router itself or on the webui? Also, can you restore the backup data previously saved without having 5GHz issue?thekk wrote:I do not regonize any more problems with wifi after the factory reset.

Re: Wifi invisible for some devices
I do the reset over the webui, restore of the settings should not be done because there is the supposed problem.
The invisible behavior isnt solved yet but it has changed after the reset.
Its happen now for about one time per week and its randomly the 2.4ghz or the 5ghz.
I bet on a bug in the wifi driver but currently i dont have time to report and track this error.
My workaround is a automated daily restart of the router at 4:30.

Re: Wifi invisible for some devices
Because these failure appear more often i try to find the problem in wifi an iam frustrated because iam not be able to change the wifi driver.
I was so annoyed that i change to the current dd-wrt version with 4.4 kernel.
Now i dont have any problems.
All functions are stable, wifi have more speed, range and a much better ping of ~7ms. The webui has much more control.
Sorry guys, your webui is nice but this release of openwrt is realy to bugy and brings too much work with it.
bb.

btw. the problem with ex. hdd that limited my upload to 25MB/s and decrease this value by downloading from inet doesnt exist in dd-wrt.
I have full speed there and no influence from traffic over inet.
Re: Wifi invisible for some devices
The latest wifi driver is now included in Gargoyle. I think this would have fixed it for you or at least made it better.
But as long as you have a firmware that is working for you, no problemo.
