1.3.4 & Asus WL500G Problem

Post by zygo »

Gday All

I upgraded about a week ago to 1.3.4 & my system has been unstable ever since.

The 2 main symptoms are
1) the router will not reboot from the web page button (no lights go out)
2) once my settings/quotas are updated the router will not complete a reboot (pull out the power plug) if the wan cable is connected. it gets so far and the stalls with no gui access.
if i pull out the wan plug while the power is down, it reboots completely, then i put the wan plug back in. (a pain in the ass as the router is in the attic of a 2 storey house)

at the moment the router is configured "wired dhcp".
I have tried "wired static" but get no dns.
i initially had it set pppoe with the modem in bridge mode but it was dropping & resetting connection 20 times a day (according to my isp's statistics page)

as a side note, is there a way to stop ie from caching the pages?? as the router is not in view to see weather it has finished "booting" by looking at the lights, i have had much confusion knowing if im looking at live settings or cached (or worse, changing cached settings and waiting, waiting, waiting......)

i have had 0 problems with last install & same quotas/settings????

i have reflashed numerous times using the asus software as i no longer have any other access

cheers :)
