Gargoyle compatible Dual Core Routers

Post by Rob »

I am at a point where my 5 or 6 year router (AP) is the slowest part of my network. I have been using Gargoyle for years, mainly to monitor / cap bandwidth use of my kids and it has been absolutely great.

With more and more devices on our network (internal LAN and out to the internet), I want a router (AP) with a cpu running at least 720mhz or dual core.

The only dual core I see on the download pages is the WRT1900AC. If anyone has any comments on that model or any other dual core router I would greatly appreciate it. Basically what I am looking for is whether or not it has full functionality as an AP on 2.4 and 5 Ghz.

Thanks in advance

I also want to thank everyone involved in Gargoyle. It truly is a great package.

I find the 1900AC a great router. In my setup it serves 30 devices with about 15 being wireless.
My WAN connection isn't very fast so I can't comment too well on how it handles that.

Some users find wifi stability to be an issue however I've never had an issue and the driver is constantly being improved.
