I've been using gargoyle since september last year on my WL500 and I must say I love it.
I have read somewhere it is possible to install usb support on openwrt? How would I go about doing this?
Ideally I would like to be able to use one usb port to plug the printer into. Would this be possible at all?
Any info would be appreciated. Cheers

Check that one out?
Remember - Gargoyle is a Front-end GUI for OpenWRT
So 99% of the time, OpenWRT instructions should work with
Gargoyle, but a lot of it is usually command line stuff.

I'm happy to do some leg work with command line. It's all a learning curve

Re: USB + Gargoyle on WL500G
Probably should mention in running kamikaze 8.09.1, that shouldn't matter too much should it?

I don't think it would matter.
I think Gargoyle 1.2.3 is on Kamikaze 8.09.2?
Not sure how all this would work once its ported to Backfire.

Re: USB + Gargoyle on WL500G
I'm a little behind, haven't gotten around to flashing my router with a newer version. The WL500 i still running 1.0.12 (I do have some D-links running a 1.1 version (16 maybe?)
Anyway, I have gotten it working from an old mint laptop laying around the house while watching tv. The link you gave me had all the info I needed to setup the router, a few minutes on google found the rest.
Before I go and setup the other computers in the house, if I was to flash the WL500 to the newer version of gargoyle, would that mean I would need to setup the printer packages again? Doesn't worry me, but I don't want to do too much work and have to do it again. lol
Thanks for the link before btw.

Re: USB + Gargoyle on WL500G
All I need to really figure out now is how to get the printer daemon to auto start when the router boots. Another thing to learn

I believe there is a startup script somewhere.
You should be able to just add the commands to startup the
USB functionality to that.
Not sure what the startup is called though, I usually don't
do much command line stuff other than standard configs.
