I've setup a "Hadoop cluster in a briefcase" fronted by a WNDR3800 running Gargoyle 1.8.0.
This wndr3800 is the gateway to the hadoop lan for nodes on 20.20.20.0/24.
Its wan link is connected to yet another private (i.e. non routable) lan. The wan link has IP 192.168.1.210 which (incidentally is hosted by another gargoyle router but on a wdr3600 - but this should be of no consequence to my issue).
In the administration interface I have setup 2 port forwarding rules:
YARN ==> from 8088 to 20.20.20.20:8088
HDFS ==> from 50070 to 20.20.20.20:50070
and saved the config.
Yet when I use a browser to point (from 192.168.1.10) to http://192.168.1.210:8088/ the connection fails (I get nothing). Yet, if I switch the wifi from my laptop from the Gargoyle AP hosting the 192.168.1.0/24 network to the Gargoyle AP hosting the 20.20.20.0/24 network and I point a browser directly to 20.20.20.20:8088 I do get the ResourceManager web app expected.
This does not seem to be a issue with Gargoyle 1.8.0 because I performed a quick test on the Garoyle AP hosting the 192.168.1.0/24 network and port forwarding works (from a mobile phone over LTE I could connect to my test machine on the 192.168.1.0/24 network.
Any idea what could be wrong?
I have a feeling there is something silly I forgot or fail to see...
Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
MT

Re: Port Forwarding between 2 private lans
Looks right to me! Some guesses ....
a typo on the port forwarding address
or a setting under Firewall - Restrictions, Quotas or Qos

Can you help someone else get Gargoyle up and running?
