I noticed that the archer c7 ac1750 is listed in the new firmware list. Has anyone tried this yet...router just arrived today...before I flash & brick a brand new router would like to verify that this is correct & does work. Thanks

Take a look at this page:

http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-wdr7500

You need to determine which version of the router you have, for 5GHz to work you need v2. I have the Archer C5 v1.20, which is essentially the same as the C7 v2, and it works perfectly.

It is worth mentioning, though, that 802.11ac support is said to be better in the trunk of OpenWRT, so you may want to check that. I don't really use the ac functionality myself, so I can't tell you anything more. Ask on their forum.

Thanks for your reply. I have version 2 archer c7...according to what I've read so far in this forum, Gargoyle will not run the 5ghz ac...Are you using the update as of April 30 from ispy & if so does the 5ghz ac work? I am getting results from stock settings on the C7 that are good enough for my simple needs, so if Gargoyle does not handle this yet, I will stick with stock firmware until Gargoyle does support this feature.

I just flashed and testing now leatest version.
For now leds on the router for 2,4 and 5GHz don't light, how can I enable it?
Is possible to view connected devices sorted by radio band.
I waiting for ac card to my laptop and when I got it I will test the speed. Now I only get 300Mbit/s connection to the Archer.
TP-Link Archer C7 v2 = OpenWrt CC
TP-Link TL-WR842ND v1 = Gargoyle 1.9.X
TL-WA850RE = Gargoyle 1.9.X

Just ordered an Archer C7 V2 from newegg.ca. It should be here in a couple days and I plan to install Gargoyle on it right away. Hopefully 5GHz and AC are working. I'll post back and let you all know.

Router arrived yesterday. Installed Gargoyle 1.7.2 on it today without a hitch. No AC available yet. Hoping it comes soon but this router will work much better than the Asus it replaces.

Statik, thanks for the information.
Encouraged by your successful installation, I also flashed my Archer C7 V2 - without any problems (http://www.gargoyle-router.com/download ... actory.bin).

Very happy with the stability and power of both the router and Gargoyle 1.7.1. Where AC isn't available yet I haven't attached the 5.0GHz antennas but I get 5/5 bars across the house where the Asus was 4/5.

Really looking forward to AC support. If there was anything I could do to help, I would.

Hi steffel,

Just want to ask, if did you flash the gargoyle firmware in tplink web interface or did you use another method, please advise?

Thanks
