Repeater / Android issue

I have a network that uses a fritz!box as my router/gateway & dhcp server and a wdr1043nd router running 1.6.1 of gargoyle as a wireless bridge/repeater connected via client bridge. Both are running on the same channel.

It works ... almost...

If I connect my windows desktop through the repeater, it works. If I try connecting my android phone or tablet through the repeater, it sits there waiting for an IP address to be assigned. However, if I set up a static IP for the tablet and phone, it works no problem.

While it is waiting for the IP address using the dhcp on the fritz!box, I can see the connections on the repeater and on the fritzbox with an IP address assigned, but the android device does not get beyond waiting for it. Wierd.

Any ideas as to why this is happening?

A very late reply - did you solve the issue? I have the same problem now, with my old router, a TP-Link WDR3600 on OpenWRT everything was fine and now with the FritzBox the clients don't get their IP adress submitted.
