DIR-300-Sucess IN DD-WRT But not gargoyle

Post by shaunpurpleman »

Hi Guys/gals,

Went out today mainly because i Finally found a solution to my problems. Bandwidth QUOTA's. And brought the Dlink DIR-300 A1G

HW: A1 - f/w: v1.01-tomi-1.0
S/N: P1RK184xxxxxx

And prepared to install Gargoyle. YAY. Well i was following the guide Linked http://www.gargoyle-router.com/wiki/dok ... nk_dir-300. But also reading Robins Entry's. Everything seem to be going smooth(except when Tftp'ing ap16.ram i had a lot of timeouts. Until i tried typing

load ap61.ram

then pressed <enter>. And straight away type

go <enter>.
(Didin't wait for transfer that is from pumpkin)

So i followed the instructions but got carried away it seems and installed DD-WRT not just the bootloader.

Ok so now i have a DIR-300 with DD-WRT on it working fine. But i Need to know how to get FON Flash to pick up.

it starts trying and then gets to the IP Found and MAC found but then just nothing waited for along time.

Now I can still get into redboot but it displays the wrong prompt DD-WRT>

Is there away i could Fis init and start the tutorial over agian. Any help would be great.

1) You don't have to go back to the beginning of the tutorial -- once you're at that point you can do multiple tries with FonFlash without any problems (it automatically runs a fis init once it connects)

2) Make sure your're using the version of FonFlash appropriate for Dir300 devices (which right now is windows only unless you compiled from source, because I've been really, really lazy about updating this).

It appears that DD-WRT have changed the redboot files

Are you using old files from here?

I needed a wireless repeater for my sons house.

I have a modified WBR-1310 (modded to 4 MB flash/16MB ram).
It comes up as a DIR-300.

Gargoyle very easy to set up as a repeater (I'm using it now).
I found the DD-WRT software unstable but the OPENWRT seems solid.
The Gargotyle GUI made setup a snap.
I followed this setup.
http://oldwiki.openwrt.org/OpenWrtDocs( ... d)300.html

I did some speed tests and they are fine.

I took some set up pictures if anyone wants some hints.

@ngg.online

Why don't you make a wiki entry then make forum links to the wiki?

I believe that I don't have the rights to edit the wiki. Correct me if I am wrong.
