Dear Friends
TL-WR1043ND v.2 with 1.7.1 is working without any problems, but...
...bandwidth is decreased by half (50%) comapring to version 1.6.2.
I have got (via ethernet cable) 250/20Mbps with 1.6.2, but with 1.7.1 only 125/20Mbps (via ethernet cable). When I type in ssh:
/etc/init.d/bwmon_gargoyle disable
or
/etc/init.d/bwmon_gargoyle stop
My bandwidth is 185/20Mbps with 1.7.1. Any chance to have full bandwidth like in 1.6.2 version? Something I must type in ssh?
I would be glad for any help and support.
Thank you in advance.
Sincerely
Version 1.7.1 - Guest Network Support

You are connected to the UPC? Measures speed online (http://www.speedtest.net)? I've tested it, the result is an increase 40mbit

Dear Roman
Jesteś z Polski?
Yes, I am connected to UPC in Poland with 250/20Mbps and I have said that with Gargoyle 1.6.2 I have got c.a. 250/20Mbps without any problems, but with Gargoyle 1.7.1 only 125/20Mbps. When I disable BWMon from ssh, then I have 185/20Mbps. I wish I have 250/20Mbps with 1.7.1 as in 1.6.2. Is it possible?
Sincerely

Nie, jestem z Czech, tylko moja mama jest z Polski.
I also UPC, I tested 1.6.2, 1.7.1, 1.6.2.2PL - still a similar problem with speed.

Dear Lantis
Any information and chances that issue will be resolved in next firmware?

Re: Version 1.7.1 - Guest Network Support
I'm at work so I dint have time to write a proper explanation, but this thread is relevant.
https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=51726
Basically the issue is fixed in the next major release of openwrt (Chaos Calmer) but gargoyle won't jump to that version until a few months after it is finally released I expect. There's no timeline on these things.
A few people in that thread have manually back ported the fix. If you have success in doing so please share
The basic answer is: yes, it will be fixed. But not sure when.
A user on these forums posted some interesting speed tests comparing the benefits of this patch and also the benefits of disabling bwmon, however bwmon is a big part of gargoyle so I'm not sure if that's really a solution.

probably more like 1.8 or 1.9 lol. it would be a significant coding jump.

Re: Version 1.7.1 - Guest Network Support
Also experiencing slow throughput speeds on 1.7.1 on the TP-Link WDR3600.
Throughput via the WDR3600 is more than half of what it should be - if I connect directly to the modem I get the full speed.
Is there a fix that I can do? Or is the only way to go back to an old version of Gargoyle?
