after firmware 1.7.0 download speed dropped to 100 megabits
Good afternoon! Today flashed his tplink1043v2 ( firmware gargoyle_1.7.0-ar71xx-generic-tl-wr1043nd-v2-squashfs-factory.bin, was previously Stock ), but after flashing speed became 150 megabytes maximum before the firmware on the sink I had speed download 1 gigabit !! Tell me what settings will help to return 1 gegabit
Re: after firmware 1.7.0 download speed dropped to 100 megab
Its a known problem
Re: after firmware 1.7.0 download speed dropped to 100 megab
and the solution is? (if the firmware version 1.6.0 to put ? )

From my understanding..........?
I read somewhere that it was suggested that some manufactures where adding hardware for firewall acceleration. OpenWRT/Gargoyle uses only software.
Or somthing to that effect..........
Basically the CPU's of these routers are small and manufactures are using tricks to get the best out of them?

I had the same problem with firmware version 1.7
I have no problem with 1.6.2 my internet and wifi connection are stable. I have TP-Link 1043nd v2.1 with 240/20 Mbit internet connection. Wifi is also working fine. It's a small room far away with wall between the router and notebook. It has about 94Mbit/s torrent download speed on a single 150Mbit/s connection which is far the best I have ever seen on this connection type.

The the kernel is barrier breaker wasn't compiled with a connection tracking cache, resulting in speed drops. This was fixed in Chaos Calmer, but I don't know if the changes were ever backported.

And to tell 1043v2 have firmware Attitude Adjustment?

Despite this widely-spread opinion, the lack of HW acceleration is NOT the real cause of performance issues in BB.ispyisail wrote:I read somewhere that it was suggested that some manufactures where adding hardware for firewall acceleration. OpenWRT/Gargoyle uses only software.

As pointed out by others in this thread, the real cause is the missing connection tracking cache in BB, making the entire BB totally useless for WAN speeds above approx 150Mbit/s... no matter how powerful is the router's processor.
Moreover, Gargoyle-specific problem, as discusses several times in the past here in this forum - and recently as a reaction to my own speed tests here: http://www.gargoyle-router.com/phpbb/vi ... 906#p27906 - it's the Gargoyle bandwidth monitor that causes drastical performance drop too.
@akula:
You can try to turn off bwmon first to see if it helps you to get the speed back:
