Hi, I've been fighting with Access Restrictions in DD-WRT for as long as I can remember.
I discovered Gargoyle 2 days ago. Installed 1.6.2 last night, and so far everything is working great (knock on wood).
One question tho, if I upgrade from 1.6.2 to 1.7.1 can I restore my settings from backup?
Thank you and 1.6.2 to 1.7.1 upgrade question

Re: Thank you and 1.6.2 to 1.7.1 upgrade question
Hey friend.
I kinda did the same last night and I would advice against using the Config backup of a previous build on 1.7.1. I tried it and all hell broke loose.
In the end I decided to start fresh, and then backup my 1.7.1 config for safekeeping.
Hope it helps.

Hi I would just like to +1 this.
If all is good with 1.6.2 just stick with it unless there is one big feature you need.

I totally understand. Thanks for the feedback.
I have a pretty sizeable config so it's always nice to hope
It's working PERFECTLY, restrictions, QoS etc, everything, couldn't be happier!
I haven't setup VPN yet but I'm optimistic it'll be great too.

Agreed here as well. 1.7.1 does NOT like restoring configs from a previous version on my TP-Link TL-WR841N/ND v7. 1.7 no probs. After a few days running 1.7.1 went into a boot loop about every 50 seconds, strange and nothing in cron that looked out of the ordinary. Backed down to 1.7 with old config and seems to be fine now for a few days. Going to try 1.7.1 on another router from scratch and see if I have the same issues.

AND, Eric posted this on the news section regarding 1.7.

I'm assuming restoring a config from 1.6 to 1.7, have the same effect, So I guess we should have done more reading
