I Think I Bricked my tp-link WR1043ND v2: Help!

Post by wjonc »

Hello. In a half-awake state, I accidentally installed the factory firmware instead of the upgrade for my upgrade (very stupid), and now I am unable to login. When I enter my old password, I get an incorrect password message in Gargoyle.

I have entered the router's (tp-link wr1043nd v2) failsafe mode but it will not let me change the password. Here is the message that I get:

passwd: /etc/passwd: Read only file system
passwd: can't update password file /etc/passwd

I am running Gargoyle 1.7.1.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you... didn't know I missed the part about using the mount_root command.
