wrt54gl - cannot re-flash

Post by chbla »

Hi there,

I need to install DD-WRT on a WRT54GL because my brother isn't so experienced it and will get this router.

I've tried flashing a new image (dd-wrt mini) in every way possible: Through the interface, through ssh upload, through wget on the router, through tftp in failsafe - but it always seems to reboot at a random upload percentage :(

I'm trying to save it in /tmp, space should be enough.
Can anyone help me? I'm desperate

Thanks a lot,
Christoph

Make sure you have the correct DD-WRT.bin file then use the TFTP mode and your router's bootloader. But this is really a question for over at the DD-WRT forums since this process does not involve Gargoyle in any way.

TFTP mode described here
http://www.gargoyle-router.com/wiki/dok ... e_recovery
Linksys WRT1900ACv2
Netgear WNDR3700v2
TP Link 1043ND v3
TP-Link TL-WDR3600 v1
Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH2
WRT54G-TM
