Hi,
It's been a long time since I've been here. Reason; my present 1.4.7 version of the Gargoyle firmware has been running very stable.
Recently I decided to have a look and found out that there have been quite a few updates since then, presently being at version 1.6.1.
Can I flash the latest firmware right away? Or should I go through some intermediate versions? All after creatiing a backup off course.
Looking forward to your replies.

Make sure you don't check "Attempt to Preserve Settings" option when upgrading.

Re: Updating from 1.4.7
Hi,
my first post here. I just want to know how this went out as
I am about to do the same firmware upgrade. It would be nice
to know if this will work out or not.

Re: Updating from 1.4.7
I am sorry for my impatience and for hijacking this thread.
I am trying to upgrade my TL-1043ND from Gargoyle v.1.4.7
to v.1.6.1 using the sysupgrade.bin file. At first it says
'Uploading, please wait' and after a few seconds it changes
to 'Upgrading, please wait.'
Now, I've been patient in this matter, waiting for 5, 15 even
50 minutes and there are no changes made to my router.
I still log in with my old password and the firmware is still
v.1.4.7.
Any ideas?
Thank you in advance

Re: Updating from 1.4.7
Which firmware image are you using to upgrade? Might be worth trying to upgrade on different web browser.
Re: Updating from 1.4.7
Oh, I thought that was obvious, I used the file
gargoyle_1.6.1-ar71xx-generic-alfa-ap96-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin
I will try using another browser. I currently use Chrome.
Thanks for your reply, most appreciated.

Edit: Using IE makes no difference. Still the above mentioned scenario.

Re: Updating from 1.4.7
This isn't correct firmware image for upgrading, if you are using TP-Link WR1043ND router.
Use this image, if your router is version 1:
http://www.gargoyle-router.com/download ... pgrade.bin
If your router is version 2, use this image:
http://www.gargoyle-router.com/download ... pgrade.bin
