should i update or not

currently im running on gargoyle 1.5.10 and i weeks ago i saw there's a new version of gargoyle 1.6.1 is released, my router is tl wr1043nd 1.8 and i have lot of problems with stock firmware and months ago i removed it and flash this good firmware, i was wonder how fast and smooth this firmware version is and i like it so much, my question is i saw some of negative comments about 1.6.1 update that some users mentioned some reboots and reset is not working , i want a rock solid stable firmware version and my question is should i update or not to 1.6.1, ?
