QOS ignoring source IP Rule, but only on download

Post by mikej »

I'm setting QOS rules based on source IP address. It works for upload, but on download, all the rules for categorizing traffic are ignored and the traffic is dumped into the default service class. I've checked, the only place the default service class (FAST) is mentioned, is in the default service class setting, and all the individual QOS rules just specify source IP address, service class and nothing else. Very odd, as the same strategy is used for QOS on upload, and the rules all work fine. I'm specifying individual IP numbers in the source address field, not a range of IP addresses.

Any ideas what might be amiss?

Thanks
Mike

I didn't experience this behavior on 1.6.0. but, decided to revert it back to 1.5.11 as the router will reboot by itself after several days.

And experience this kind of behavior on 1.5.11 and decided to disable QoS for DL and UL.

I'm waiting for the next release of 1.6.x maybe this issue will be resolve.

Typically, download rules use destination IP. Upload rules use source IP.

mikej,

have you tried upgrading your firmware to 1.6.1, it seems QoS is working fine.
