I tried setting my TP Link WDR3600 as a repeater for my Billion 7800N (after unsuccessfully trying to get it to work for QoS internet as it would just constantly lose connections.)
Naturally, the repeating wasn't working, I couldn't connect to it (the SSID came up but would disappear shortly after, and cabled I couldn't connect to it either.)
In my frustrating I hit the reset button on the router not thinking that maybe that doesn't work with Gargoyle (I still don't know.)
Needless to say, I still can't connect to it on any IPs. I followed the instructions here to set it up: http://gargoylerouter.com/phpbb/viewtop ... =11&t=4936
(I had set 192.168.1.251 as the bridge IP, I tried connecting to that as well as 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.0.1)
Now the second icon from the left (See here http://i.imgur.com/xzC5VDA.jpg ) is flashing constantly. The other two icons are solid.
I also have a Netgear DM111P in my arsenal, and I really don't know what the best way it is to set all this stuff up. I only just bought the WDR3600 for Gargoyle so I could QoS because my housemates sometimes suck up the bandwidth and I can't use anything.
Needless to say, I am at my tethers end with routers and modems, they are more painful to configure than printers. >_<

Re: WDR3600 issues
Manually set your computer's wired Ethernet connector IP address to 192.168.1.2 and then try to connect to your router at 192.168.1.254 using a wired connection.
If that does not work use Putty and try to ssh to your router at 192.168.1.254.
If that does not work then you need to get into failsafe mode which is discussed here http://www.gargoyle-router.com/wiki/dok ... e_recovery so that you can access your router and run 'firstboot' as shown there. This will reset the settings to default an d you will be able to access through the web interface.
You should not have attempted to use repeater mode since that mode does not support QoS. You must be in router mode to use QoS. It is recommended to put your 7800N in bridge mode so that it acts as a dumb modem and then use Gargoyle as your main router. This is discussed here http://www.gargoyle-router.com/wiki/dok ... &s[]=modem
