IPTables help

Post by TheCodeMonk »

Ok, I need some assistance.

I installed poptop (pptpd) and have it running fine. I can connect remotely and access machines on my local network. I haven't needed the default gateway because I am the admin at network I am connecting from so I can allow any traffic I need at work... However, I now have the need to allow internet traffic through the VPN because I am going to be on a remote network where I will not be able to allow certain traffic. (It's actually for a game that I play and I cannot have 2 machines on the same lan playing the game, so I use a VPN to play the game through a different network, and no the latency isn't a problem, surprisingly.)

So, I have been scratching my head for hours and reading everything I can about iptables and rules I need to set up, but I cannot figure out how to fit them in with the chains that gargoyle has set up by default. Plus, a lot of what I am seeing apply to regular linux PCs and not a router, while similar, the networking appears a bit different.

What I need is a way to forward and nat everything from ppp0 to the internet... Help?
