I swapped my TP WDR4300 to OpenWRT on the weekend as I am getting the poor ping times and wifi speeds noticed by others. The wifi was certainly much faster under openwrt but after spending the best part of a day trying to configure the openwrt firewall to do what I can configure very easily in gargoyle and failing abysmally and then failing to configure openvpn to work I went back to Gargoyle the next day with a huge sigh of relief.
The router runs more slowly and the wifi is slower with the older drivers but its a real testament to the devs how easy it is to configure and the power available in the gargoyle GUI.
