Router needs to have a IPv6 WAN IP adress

Post by widesreen »

Hi everyone,

I have tried differet firmwares and truly belief that gargoyle is the best choice. I would be perfectly happy with this FM but my ISP has different plans.
In order to Forwarding Ports (cable modem/router hitron cve-30360) I need to have a IPv6 Adress.
I have tried to find a solution myself, reading post here and in the openwrt wiki.
I found out if using openwrt I can install kmod-ipv6 ( http://knowhow.bart.prokop.name/install/openwrt/ipv6 ) and wide-dhcpv6-client ( http://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/uci/dhcp6c ). My cable modem found an IPv6 adress.
Now I tried to do the same with Gargoyle but cant install any of both.

I get this message:

Code: Select all

ERROR: Dependency kernel (= 3.3.8-1-d6597ebf6203328d3519ea3c3371a493) of package kmod-ipv6 is installed,
but has incompatible version 3.3.8-1-418b0c9a3d2b0325109c4c9dd8680699 and is marked as 'hold'
Is there any chance to get this to work? I've read about IPv6 is not working with gargoyle.

Gargoyle does not support IPv6. You will have to use Openwrt to interface to your ISP.
