Playstation Vita drops out in game.

Post by WoobiE »

Hi, I am using a DLink dir-825 with Gargoyle Router firmware 1.4.7. I can connect to the internet and surf with my Playstation Vita as well as download games. The only problem I keep getting is that if I try and play online, the Playstation Vita keeps dropping out. I have enabled Upnp. I have assigned the PSV an IP address.

I have tried an older Dlink router with stock firmware and am able to play without any problems, the disconnects only occur on the router with Gargoyle Firmware. I am not sure what else to look for to diagnose the problem. Any suggestions would be great.

Cheers

Main suggestion I would have is to do the following:

1) reset router to defaults and only configure wireless & enable UPNP
2) play with the Vita as close as you can to the router (5 meters)
3) if the above works - extend your range out to 10 meters then
try more online gaming and see how reliable the connection is

Main thing is to eliminate any type of wireless issues

You should also update the firmware to Gargoyle 1.5.10
There have been a LOT of updates since then and upgrading
may resolve most/all of your issues

2x Engenius - ESR900 Stock 1.4.0 / OpenWRT Trunk 49400

Hi, thanks for replying. I followed your instructions and have found out what was the problem. In the wireless section of the settings I could choose "N+G+B" or "G+B". The "N+G+B" was giving me the drop out with my Playstation Vita. I had it with N because my laptop uses it but I never thought it would interfere with the PSV. Thanks for the help.
