QOS not limiting upload properly

Post by GargoyleNoob »

I tested on 3 different non-java sites and got an average upload of 4.1mbps. I pay for 4. I set my total upload bandwidth to 3750 and set up 3 classes.

-1 for my PC
-1 for my Wifi devices
-1 for my Xbox.

PC is the default class and is unlimited so when I test, I get right at 3.7mbps.

My Wifi is limited to 1024kbps upload, but I can get tests of above 1.5mbps at times. Even when my PC and Xbox are on.

I have my xbox minimum at 192kbps and maxed out at 256kbps. I mostly play a FPS called Black Ops 2, which is fun, but a coding nightmare. I have the rule in place to prioritize my UDP game traffic to my static console IP and my bandwidth throttled to make the game playable without giving me host. However, Im getting readings near the thousands when I go to the options menu.

Yes I am out here.

Ok what you say does not sound good but what you show looks fine. Please post screen shots showing the problem.

As an analogy, you do not go the the Dr. with a broken left leg and only let him look at the right leg. Dr. pbix wants to see the broken part.

Also always post the version of Gargoyle you are using.

I am using version 1.5.9 on a Netgear 3800. What would you like a screenshot of? The Black Ops 2 showing more than 256kbps available bandwidth or the class load being more than 256kbps? The latter hardly happens, so Im thinking that it may just be BO2 giving incorrect readings. I will try to post screens of both.

I am only interested in Gargoyle screen shots really. If BO2 is showing something else then that's not really something I can help with. Probably as you say something with the way the game measures things.

Yeah Im almost 100% certain that its just BO2 readings. I was getting readings of 10000kbps available before QOS. I only have a 4 upload lol. Crappy coding at its finest. My hit detection has been perfect and I dont feel a second behind anymore so Im happy with the settings even if the readings are a little off in-game
