Hi,
I recently upgraded from an old linksys wrt54g to a tp-link 4300 router, and I was underwhelmed by the performance. The linksys was stable (using dd-wrt), but the tp-link couldn't keep a solid connection with my roku with the stock firmware. I tried upgrading to Gargoyle last night, and it didn't go so smoothly.
The first problem is that I couldn't get any connection. In the 'Status' page, the 'WAN IP Address' and 'WAN Netmask' were blank. I wasn't able to find where I could type in my ISP's WAN IP Address or Netmask.
After fiddling around, I finally got the router working on my computer, but now I have two big problems:
1) The wireless won't work. It seems that I somehow disabled wireless, because I can only get the router to work if I use an ethernet cord.
2) At the same time I got the internet running on my computer, 192.168.1.1 refreshed with an "unable to load" page. I tried re-connecting, and it just timed out. I tried 192.168.0.1 and it timed out. I tried a bunch of different combinations, but nothing worked. So whatever setting I did to disable wireless, I can't get into the interface to change it.
Anybody know any way to back into the interface if 192.168.0.1 will no longer work? And once I get in, what's the best way to manually set the WAN IP Address for my ISP?

Is the asterix light flashing continuously or is the router rebooting continuously? I has this problem on my new WDR4300 and have loaded openwrt instead (which doesn't appear to have this problem).
To reset your router use the failsafe method here http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl- ... lsafe.mode
that will put you back to default settings
