Netgear 3700V2 - Cannot connect in failsafe after upgrade

Post by diskers »

Hi everyone,
So I upgraded to 1.57 without retrieving previous config. After the first reboot Iogged using webpanel changed the password and rebooted. Aftre that i wasn't able to get to the webpanel, after many attempts I tried to connect using telnet but I can enter in failsafe mode but cannot ping the router, so i consequence connect using console. Anyway I think that the device in bricked :(

Your device is not bricked.

You may have to access it via serial console

http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/netgear/wndr3700

See that for details

Failsafe mode should always work though

Have you tried following this?

http://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/howto/generic.failsafe

Make sure you do failsafe with no ethernet connected, then
once it looks like its in failsafe mode, then plug in the ethernet cable

Hi again,
I don't know why and how but few days ago after getting a wndr 3800 for a good price, I powered again the wndr 3700 v2 and was unable to connect again to the console. After two or three restarts finally I was able to connect to the console using putty and to make a firstboot. Now the router is working fine 8-)
