bug report/feature suggestion

Post by AF35 »

recently I played with firewall setting abit more and I think I should mention one improvement:

1. under firewall -> Access restriction -> Restricted Resources -> application protocol. multiple options cannot be set. so instead of drop down list. radio button should be more appropriate in order to choose multiple application protocol

2. under the login page,
The quota display is wrong.
12.000/12.000 GB does not equal to 28.243%

Entire Network Quota

28.243% of download quota has been used (12.000/12.000 GBytes)

EDIT: I changed the download quota to 30GB instead of 12GB and it fixes the % but I don't know how. so might be a bug to look into.

3. it'll be good to have hostnames attached to the Status -> Connected Hosts tables. I have around 20 IPs at home to manage and I usually forget what name is attached to which IP.

Not just there, but anywhere IP is shown. For example Quotas, Bandwidth graph, web usage...

4. In Total Bandwidth Usage table, the usage is one day behind. for example the usage for 1/9/2009 was shown as 31/8/2009

I tested this bug by purposely downloading a certain amount and it did show up one day behind.

EDIT: i saw this problem in the forum and knowing 1.0.8 suppose to have fixed this issue. I'll go home and do an update and test it again. (i'm on 1.0.7 atm)

5. in Quota setting, can we set two IPs to share one quota? currently you can only select a single IP for one quota. my sneaky room-mate tries to switch to ethernet after his wireless quota is finished.

Regarding the quota % issue: can you confirm that you are using 1.0.8?

Maybe set a zero (or near zero) quota on the ethernet connection? Give the ethernet MAC a fixed IP and block MACs from different IPs.

Or... have a low "all others combined" quota set. This is what I have done. Prevents unknown PCs using a lot of download.
