Hi All, I'm sorry if this seems like a stupid question but I need to restart my modem and router due to WiFi connectivity issues. My ISP has told me that I should turn the modem off when I'm not using it. Does it matter whether I turn the modem or router off first and the same for turning them back on again?
Thanks in advance

Don't listen to everything the ISP told you. They are NOT always rightGrendel99 wrote:Hi All, I'm sorry if this seems like a stupid question but I need to restart my modem and router due to WiFi connectivity issues. In my opinion, you should just leave your modem ON unless you hardly uses it. The purpose of broadband is to have ALWAYS ON internet.
Depending on your exact setup, you should turn on your modem first, make sure it already up and running before you turn on your router. In most cases, it shouldn't matter but this makes sure your router can talk to your modem because it can't when it is off..
