Firstly, thanks to all who contribute to Gargoyle. Simply wonderful!
Now, I've allocated Quotas to all known MACs on my network. I have also assigned a small Quota to 'All Others', in case of visitors etc. This also helps me assess whether there are any devices using bandwidth that I haven't specificlally allocated a Quota to.
But I note in this guide http://www.gargoyle-router.com/wiki/dok ... ring_setup that it is suggested "We need to block all internet access all PC's except ones with quotas".
Is that a mandotory step to ensure Quotas work correctly, or is my config described above quite OK for that situation?
Quota setup - Firewall Restrictions necessary?

I'm going to suggest "no" but people could bypass their data limits

Thanks ispyisail.
I also notice now that since the above guide was written that a DHCP/Static config option has been added to "Block MACs that have a static IP assigned from connecting using another IP". I have enabled that feature and I would say that it is effectively taking care of the firewall config suggested in the guide.
