cannot access gargoyle interface on netgear WNDR3700V2

Post by xherdesire »

hey guys,

i have recently flashed my netgear WNDR3700v2 with gargoyle and was using it for a bit then left stopped using it as i still own a billion 7800N so i used that instead, i took it out today to using it again because my housemate is constantly using bittorrent so i take out my netgear as i use it for throttling his bt when i wanna game, as i havent used it for a few month since i got it, i tried to access the router through 192.168.2.1 with no success, i have the ethernet plugged in and the power on and thats it.

so my question is, how can i access the router setting if 192.168.1.1 doesnt work and if there is any other way to reset the router just case it messed up somehow while it wasnt in use? or if i can reflash gargoyle on it without being able to access the router login.

any contribution will be appreciated ;)

thanks for your time.

I feel you man, I have this problem quite often... there is something wrong going on with this router and gargoyle... Everytime I flash a new version I have had to do a full reset and unbrick the router using the TFTP flashing method.

First try this:

http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Ha ... r_30/30/30

if it fails do this:

http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/TFTP_flash

Of course these are instructions for using the ddwrt firmware but just use the garfoyle firmware instead.

Good luck.
