Hi, I have a TPLINK TL-WR941ND that I am using as a Gateway (Static IP, wireless). My problem is that the network is extremely slow.
My net speed is 25mbps down/7mbps up.
However I only get 2mbps down/6mbps up while connecting through the tplink router, even if I am connected via lan cable.
If I connect through the wifi connection of the main router then I get full speed.
When trying to transfer files from 1 pc to another I barely get 250-300KBps, if I do it over the main router's wifi I get around 10MBps.
For the record, I am aware of the difference between MBps and mbps
I am also aware that repeating a wifi cuts down the bandwidth in half. However this is too much.
Any solutions?
EDIT: Testing varies setting has shown that the speed degradation only occurs if I enable client+AP for wifi. Any other mode, I get full speed.
Is there any other way I can repeat my wifi while also getting the ability to uses quotas?

Your upload speed is faster than your download speed? I've never seen this before...quasar_sky wrote:My net speed is 25mbps up/7mbps down.

Re: TPLINK TL-WR941ND, extremely slow speed
There is some sort of bugfix for ath9k client mode in the backfire branch that isn't in the current version of Gargoyle. Usually Eric includes these updates in each new release of Gargoyle:
https://dev.openwrt.org/changeset/31266 ... s/backfire
That said, it still seems weird to me that the download is reduced by a far greater percentage than the upload. I'll also assume that this has nothing to do with the fact you are doing double nat.

Could you please translate into noobspeak what I can do?

Wait until the next version of Gargoyle, 1.5.5 and the problem might fix itself. Otherwise I have no clue why it is slow.
