Request:Gargoyle for 901nd

Post by mehtab »

It is fully supported on openwrt and therefore would like to see it ported to gargoyle.
Here is link:

No I had openwrt installed first then I ssh the router and used back to firmware commands:

Code: Select all

cd /tmp
wget http://www.gargoyle-router.com/downloads/images/ar71xx/gargoyle_1.5.2-ar71xx-tl-wr941nd-v4-squashfs-factory.bin
mtd -r write /tmp/gargoyle_1.5.2-ar71xx-tl-wr941nd-v4-squashfs-factory.bin firmware
Version of gargoyle is 1.5.2 as you can see from the commands I used above.

If you have OpenWRT installed - you can upgrade from the LuCi GUI

Just choose the appropriate Gargoyle firmware.

You can flash back/forth between Gargoyle and OpenWRT

2x Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH V1 A0D0 = Gargoyle 1.9.x / LEDE 17.01.x
2x Engenius - ESR900 Stock 1.4.0 / OpenWRT Trunk 49400

IIRC he has earlier written that the webinterface was not working on his openwrt installation, that is why he did it through ssh.

http://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/howto/generic.sysupgrade

You can always try the sysupgrade command via putty.

MTD writes can be risky is why.

I use MTD myself, and am aware of any risks.

Sysupgrade should always work from command line as well.

I think gargooyle is doing it all wrong since 1.5.1. Very unstable after that release.

I guess that you have not upgraded all that way through 1.5.3, that is very stable and you should be very happy with that version. it should be very stable for all users, even though it is still an experimental version.
