Hi,
Is there procedures somewhere to revert back to original TP-LINK FW for TL-WR740N V2?
Thanks...

I do not know if this is working, but check this out: http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=85237kw67 wrote:Hi,

That's something I'm a bit confused. Are those files from the link good for DD-WRT to TP-LINK FW only or they are also good for Gargoyle to TP-LINK FW too?
Re: TL-WR740N v2:Reverting back to TP-LINK FW
On the 14 page of the link, "The revert files in this thread are for reverting to stock from dd-wrt only." So no luck using those files.
I have also read a post here from DoesItMatter,http://www.gargoyle-router.com/phpbb/vi ... f=8&t=1212, that you can revert a WZR-HP-G300NH to stock. My question is if I use WR741ND files for my WR740N, are the same procedures apply? One particular step is to hex edit and remove the first 28 bytes leaving the 4 starting bytes 27 05 19 56, is it the same?

I'll leave DD-WRT out of this...
have you already read this???
http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl- ... l.firmware
I think the same procedure applies to wr740n, obviously with the proper firmware from tp-link:
http://www.tp-link.com/en/support/downl ... version=V2
WARNING: just GUESSING, test at your own risk

Re: TL-WR740N v2:Reverting back to TP-LINK FW
I accidentally (
) flashed my router with gargoyle (I wanted to re-flash the original firmware because I had problems with IPTV). When I found that openWRT doesn't support IPTV at all, I wanted to revert back.
And I did that by flashing from the web interface, by loading the firmware you can find on a TP-Link website.
I have WR741ND V2.4, but I guess that doesn't make a big difference

Just wanted to pop in, to say, that, this did the trick for me.
Only that I was stuck with openwrt instead of gargoyle, but also wanted to revert to original stock.
