Ethernet hangs ocasionaly on gargoyle 1.3.x on Bullet-M2

Post by lbarrosoneto »

Hello, All,

I am having some ocasional problems with the wired ethernet adapter on Gargoyle 1.3.x withubiquity Bullet-M2 device.
When the problem happens, the unit does not seem to be correctly communicating via wired ethernet but communicates ok via wireless interface.
If i type "ifconfig eth0", i always get RX packets and RX bytes = 0. Tx packets and TX bytes keep increasing....
If i reboot the unit from the ssh command prompt via Wireless connection, it gets back to normal.

What are the steps i do here to cause the problem?
- SSH from the wired ethernet to the unit;
- kill -9 the watchdog process (this will cause an watchdog hardware reset);
Keep generating traffic to the unit via wired ethernet (ping, try to use SSH while unit is resseting);

Is there any way of resseting the ethernet interface without resseting the unit?
Did anybody face similar problem?
Should this be caused by a problem in my network or some known issue on the ethernet driver?

Thanks in advance,

Luiz Oliveira Neto
