OpenWrt give dual functionality

Post by siegfrida »

Does Tomato or OpenWrt give dual functionality to routers with USB ports?
I'm thinking of getting a router that can be flashed with either Tomato or OpenWrt firmware to give it extra functionality. But the router will currently only have USB storage functionality. Does anyone know if after flashing with the new firmware if it will enable print server functionality as well?

Yes, Tomato, OpenWrt, DD-WRT, and Gargoyle all allow additional USB functionality. The exact functionality depends on which firmware, and in some cases which additional packages are installed.
