Ubiquiti BulletM2 lost password
I recently purchased a Ubiquiti Bullet M2 online.
It was stated as a new item.
On receipt I fired it up, but It does not run UBNT software as one would have expected, but a Gargoyle version.
This means that it has been used and is not new.
The eBay seller is not reachable for comment/help at the moment.
The Gargoyle login page needs a admin password.
I tried a few PW's, but non work.
I tried a few items I found in this forum, but no luck yet.
I tried the 30/30/30 method 3 times , it did not work
I tried "FailSafe" (3 times also), as suggested in video on youtube /watch?v=_NqHpRHl8gQ (not allowed to post the full address)
The above video is not for a BulletM2, but I presume, that the procedure is the same.
Nothing so far has worked
Can anyone please tell me HOW to reset this Bullet to factory settings.
Many thanks.

Re: Ubiquiti BulletM2 lost password
have you tried "password"?
Edit:
Sorry if is too obvious, don't know how experienced you are, so just asking...
Also, 30/30/30 does nothing on gargoyle...

Re: Ubiquiti BulletM2 lost password
The instructions in that video are the fastest and easiest way to reset it. I’d give it a few goes, it’s called “failsafe” for a reason. It’s supposed to work! Usually when it doesn’t work, it is user error (not pressing the button at the right time).
The next option (not likely to work) is allowing the router to boot fully, and holding the reset button for ~15 seconds. If it is configured, it should initiate a failsafe reset. But I do not think this works properly on UBNT devices.
The last option is direct serial access to the device.
At which point you’d be quicker talking to the eBay seller I reckon.

Re: Ubiquiti BulletM2 lost password
I did it as per the video instructions 2 more times.
Everytime i get A message " Network error: "Network is unreachable".
After a minute or so,when I than check 'ipconfig/all' , the default gateway has changed to "192.168.1.1(Duplicate)"

Re: Ubiquiti BulletM2 lost password
Both the router and the machine you are using to reset it must be isolated from other networks, otherwise you may get address range conflicts and you won't have much luck.

Re: Ubiquiti BulletM2 lost password
I am talking to you from a different laptop than the one I am using for the UBNT router
That laptop is not connected to any WIFI or Ethernet and only for the BulletM2

Re: Ubiquiti BulletM2 lost password
Then i see no reason for your duplicate IP issue.
I also can't help you any further than i have already above. The options are listed. You need to keep trying, or get back in touch with the seller.
Sorry, that's all there is to it.

Re: Ubiquiti BulletM2 lost password
Have look at the openwrt wiki for your device. I thought that device had a hardware reset/ recovery button?bowsprit wrote:Ok, Thank you for help, best wishes for the new year.
Re: Ubiquiti BulletM2 lost password
Yes indeed, it has a reset button, but it seems to have no effect on resetting the gargoyle software.
I tried every procedure and combination, i could find online to reset, but no luck there.
It may work if it had ubiquiti firmware installed, I guess..?
