Can't access router via web GUI any longer

So, I have two of the small Gargoyle routers purchased through this site. We have them each plugged into an Apple Airport. They both are set up similarly as Gateways, and they both hand out addresses in separate 192.168.1.x IP ranges via DHCP. The Apple hands out DHCP addresses in the default 10.0.1.x IP range (double NAT, I know, not ideal, but it has worked seemingly for a long time).

However, one of the Gargoyles has gone off the reservation... it still routes packets over wifi. I can connect to its wifi, and access the internet fine. However, when I try to access the web GUI at 192.168.1.1 it can't connect to the Gargoyle web GUI. I get "Safari cannot open the page because it could not connect to the server." Tried via both http and https (because I think I have it set to only connect via https).

There's also a clue. When I connect to the Gargoyle that is working normally it gives my client device an IP address that is in the 192.168.1.x range, as expected. When I connect to the wifi of the problematic Gargoyle it gives me a client IP address in the 10.0.1.x range (the range of the Apple Airport). So, it is in some strange bridge mode kinda, but I don't know how to access it.

I know that I can reset the whole Gargoyle router, and maybe that is what I should do to clear out the corruption. But I was sort of hoping to check the settings and understand what happened first. Any suggestions? Thanks,

when connected, can you ping the router

you could also try angry IP scanner to scan for all IP address

Ping from the command line just times out, 100% packet loss.
