Re: Version 1.7.1 - Guest Network Support

Postby klaafstra99 » Wed Mar 04, 2015 1:52 pm

I had my 1043ND v1 also bricked after an upgrade from 1.7.0 to 1.7.1 but without preserving my settings.

So I also had to debrick using the serial port. For some reason I am not able to use TFTPD over ethernet, but the good old Kermit protocol saved the day. It took approx. 20 minutes to transfer the flash image using the serial connection (115200 Baud), but now 1.7.1 is working like a charm!

It's there any chance to add WPA2 Enterprise EAP (802.11x) support for Client Mode/WDS/Repeater in the next release? I need this option and because of that I have to use DD-WRT instead of Gargoyle.

I update FW on my router (TP-LINK TL-MR3220 v2.0) to Gargoyle 1.7.1, and use it as WiFi-client. Since then, when router(used as Access Point) reconnect to internet provider, my router (WiFi-client) lose access to web-sites.

Code: Select all

root@Gargoyle:~# ping 8.8.8.8

root@Gargoyle:~# ping google.com

something this updating DNS-list/routes on WiFi-client after Access Point reconnect to Internet Provider?
on Gargoyle 1.6.2 no such problem...

Can somebody else confirm that "Restore Default Configuration" don't work with 1.7.1?

Yep it's broke in a bad way. Wen you upload the file it just hangs there and does nothing.

I can also confirm it doesn't. Only way to restore Old Config is to SSH, firstboot and THEN Load the Old file.

Other than that, I couldn't be happier with this, such amazing work you guys are doing, and I've only been here a week!!!

Keep it up!

There is some other crazy stuff going on as well. I haven't got a handle on it yet.

Under certain conditions the WAN port won't connect? There are other reports similar to this as well?

There sure is! 1.7.2 has been very stable but when I attempted to turn on the Guests network then things got very weird. A popup demanded username & password on my G3 connection (working and not required), and the WSA on the Guests network was auto selected, and other weirdness. I had to reload a config backup to get things back to normal
Can you help someone else get Gargoyle up and running?

I had this on my n750 but not on my wdr3600. the wdr3600 is solid as a rock!

Last night I experienced random disconnects on the 2.4 GHz SSID while watching videos on the Chromecast. I upped the TCP connection limit and after a reboot it seems to have helped, but the wireless does feel kinda flaky.
