To clarify: you need to press a button for at least 3 seconds to make the button do what it is programmed to do, not that you need to press both buttons at the same time.

The WPS/Reset button, if held for at least 3 seconds will reset the router to Gargoyle defaults. The Wifi On/Off button will reboot the router.
Hi Eric, I tested the WiFi on/off button and it not reboot the router. First I only press it and before I hold it for 3+ seconds and not reboot too.

About the tables.
Image

Before when full screen (Window Size 1920) the UI had fixed width. The table was compact and easy to read. Now the column width varies with the width of the window dynamically.

This example: in Bandwidh Usage Table
Image
At this size of Window, the table fill all the space by itself, if I expand the window size on Bandwith usage:
Image
Then shares it with Download Bandwith Data and the columns are narrower and they will expand as my screen became bigger.

However in B/W Distribution are two problems with 1920x1200.
The pie charts are always in vertical layout, and the size of Host names varies with the window size. Check the same window size:
Image
and then just making it a few pixels wider.
Image
From usable to much bigger.

In the previous screenshot you can also see the white space because of the layout (1 item). This causes the table below to be as wide as the window.
Here it is an example how would look in a super wide screen:
Image
Not as easy to read as the previous version.

This could improve for bigger screens to keep the Host name to a fixed maximum size and put the table side by side.

---- Fonts big or small
I was referring to the button class btn-lg the padding and font are too big.
class
Image

This is default:
Image
and this reduced the font to 14px and padding.
Image

The size of the buttons is just personal taste, good for fingers bad for screens.

If you need something more clear just ask and what other people think about this.

That is by design.
If you want it to do something different there's plenty of info here and on other sites
Oh right. Just found one of you scripts and changed it to make it work for the 1043nd. Thanks!
Ricky, can you point out where you found the script? I seem to be having some trouble finding it.

Edit: P.S. Never mind, I think I found it: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=980

So you're saying you're having problems in excess of 1920x1200 resolutions??
That's definitely not something I looked at.

I will try to. I have a dual monitor setup so if I stretch it across th I may be able to simulate something to that effect.

Just at 1920 and below, I think table should have a fixed maximum width.

My screen is 1920 x 1080 and i'm seeing the same problems

To be far i'm getting used to it but its still not as good as the original.

On a cell phone it looks and works great.

Re: Version 1.9.2 WAN problems

Post by ektus »

Something isn't quite right. 1.9.2 has been installed over one of the latest 1.9.x from January preserving the settings and has been working fine since. Now I had to change the WAN settings, and WAN is dead. Restore backup from four weeks ago, WAN is alive. Change something in connection settings, WAN dies. I'll try to investigate further, but don't know where to look. Router: TP-Link Archer C7 V2.

I'll try and update to latest 1.9.x again and see what happens.

Tonight I had a power outage UPS kicked in, batteries run out and I found the Gargoyle Router had only 1 light. (No wireless). Rebooted the router and plugged in the serial port. Keeps rebooting itself. I can connect trough SSH or Web for a few seconds

It reboots itself.

Another piece of log:

[ 102.650000] Rebooting in 3 seconds..
EDIT: What a weird bug, I just keep getting errors after this:

Code: Select all

ipt_bandwidth: timezone shift of 60 minutes detected, adjusting
[ 82.500000] old minutes west=0, new minutes west=-60
So
changed timezone to GMT+0 and stop rebooting.

Does the reboot also happen if you disconnect the WAN port? If not, it might be the usual corruption of usage data and wrong system time.

I dind't try this, but right now changing the timezone fixed the problem and everything is working without problems. usage data works. Graphs and everything.
