WIFI problems on WNDR4300

Post by pwswakester »

Running 1.9.2 on netgear wndr4300.
If i set the 5 ghz radio to any channels other than 36 or 40, it turns off. Router says it's on, but the signal doesn't show up on wifi scanner.
The 2.4 ghz radio also sometimes will turn off after running for a couple days, reboot fixes that.
Both radios set to 20 mhz.
I did not preserve settings when I upgraded from 1.8.1
Any Ideas? I can pull logs if that will help.

What channels are you specifically trying to use.
They're not DFS are they?
Between 52 and 144.

If yes, your router can take up to a minute to start transmitting.
If it finds an interfering signal it should change channels, but in my experience usually just stops transmitting altogether.

Well, looks like that might be it, able to use 157 and higher.
It seems the affect the bands next to the DFS range as well, but the far ends all work.
I'm not in the city so I was to concerned with interference, but there are two military bases nearby....
Thanks

Those military establishments would probably cause you the most problems
