Re: OpenVPN Question
The ovpn files will be different as they will refer to different cert & key files. Also the cert and key files <client>.crt, <client>.crt, <client>.key will be different: I originally specified credential re-use as part of testing, then deleted the most of the contents of /etc/openvpn and recrea...

Solved: Is there any harm in using factory.img?
Just thought of a possible reason: the "Upgrade Now" button in the gui probably uses the openwrt sysupgrade command documented here: http://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/howto/generic.sysupgrade which might work poorly with a .img that overwrites rootfs_data. One would have to use the tftp method r...

Is there any harm in using factory.img?
If I wanted to do a completely clean upgrade of openwrt from (say) 1.5.8 to 1.5.10 could I use a factory.img? (of course I know I could use sysupgrade.bin with Restore Default Config but the openwrt forum tells me "factory" has the full flash layout, with the unused space set clear, erasin...

Re: DIR-615 v.E3 install probs...
Have you tried returning to the factory firmware first,
then flashing from that to Gargoyle.
I haven't tried it, but have seen others who have said they have difficulty flashing from ddwrt..

Solved: opkg Updating Incorrectly
Today I tried: gpkg update and it worked properly. opkg update should have worked as it appears to be just a symlink to gpkg. So either: a. a script somewhere knows if it is being called by opkg instead of gpkg, and downs tools. b. Someone else noticed this problem and it has been fixed. c. the elec...

Solved: opkg Updating Incorrectly
running Gargoyle 1.5.10 in a wndr-3800, clean install from new factory firmware. I am trying to install my first package. Have used apt-get for years so am ok with the basics. But when I check my package list -opkg list- after running -opkg update-, the only difference is that the packages now all h...

Suggestion:Missing Item in OpenVPN UI
When specifying the OpenVPN settings through the GUI, there is nowhere to specify DNS servers. But if one specifies: "Clients Use VPN for: All Client Traffic" then the usual VPN servers cannot be reached, and even thogh the vpn is set up, the internet cannot be browed by domain name, only ...

Solved:Setting Up an OpenVPN Server: TLS Errors
Solution: While all other certificates can be put inline with no issues the tls cert (ta.key) may need a direction parameter . The original .conf file contained: tls-auth ta.key 1 So the new .conf file, with the tls key inline, needs an added 'parameter' key-direction 1 which replaces the "1&qu...

Solved: Setting Up an OpenVPN Server: TLS Errors
Just installed 1.5.10 on a Netgear WNDR-3800 - truly lovely. Works perfectly so far. Am trying to set up the router as an Openvpn server. I currently use 2 openvpn services (Witopia and Strongvpn) from my Kubuntu 12.04 laptops and my GNex phone, so I am generally familiar with the client procedure b...
