The "tick" is used to enable/disable a quota rule, so you've answered the first part yourself

For the second part, automatically disabling after a set period, I don't think you can. Quotas are on a daily/weekly/monthly cycle that repeats.

Hi, What is your reason for wanting to disable ethernet? All the restrictions can be applied to ethernet the same as wireless. I though if you've given the router a hostname you should be able to ping/browse that hostname.

He mentioned charging them for usage rather than cutting them off with a quota. Perhaps a combination of monitoring/charging, and somehow using QOS to limit their effect on his own internet experience, would be what is needed?
