Re: DNSCrypt support
BTW, there's something else to be careful about. It seems that changing certain settings in the web interface can interfere with the changes you need to make to those files to get DNSCrypt working properly. For example, when I enabled my wireless network, the /etc/config/dhcp file was modified and t...

Re: DNSCrypt support
Do you have it enabled on both the computer AND the router? That probably wouldn't work. I have installed it on Gargoyle myself, using the same links Tapper posted. I wasn't sure how to transfer the updated file over (and wget wouldn't work), so it just put it on a USB flash drive. Otherwise everyth...

Re: Router not accessible
Workaround - works for me anyway: use https instead of http. Maybe I should have been doing that all along.

Re: Router not accessible
Well, turning off the Web Shield indeed works. But then why did it work fine in IE? I had thought the Web Shield was browser-agnostic and simply monitored ports. Hey BTW, I'm also getting a "The plain HTTP request was sent to HTTPS port" message when posting here (although the post goes th...

Re: Router not accessible
I'm having this same problem now. I think it could have something to do with the year change since it started shortly after midnight as the new year started. IE will work, but not Firefox.
I set cookies to delete when the browser shuts down, so I kind of doubt it has something to do with cookies.

Re: Why is BW data so important to some people?
I only get 150GB, and that includes overhead so it's really more like 125GB or so. Gargoyle is easier to check and is up to the minute, whereas the ISP's meter is a couple of days behind. I just have to remember to adjust for overhead. Even then, I managed to go over one month; I'm not sure if they ...

Re: Version 1.5.8 - USB Storage with FTP
I don't know if this was brought up yet or not, but on the bandwidth monitor, the month is being displayed as October twice instead of October and November. If I view by days, it shows Nov.
Here's a composite of what I mean:

Re: Version 1.5.8 - USB Storage with FTP
^Yeah, the one you should have used has the model of the router in the name. You'll have to recover by flashing it via TFTP: http://g300nh.blogspot.com/2010/06/firmware-flash-and-brick-recovery.html Now, when I did this before, I couldn't get it to work in Windows for some reason so I had to use Lin...

Re: Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH VS. WZR-HP-AG300H
Actually DoesItMatter, that's a different router entirely. There are:
WZR-HP-G300NH (with rtl8366s - works with Gargoyle)
WZR-HP-G300NH (with rtl8366rb - doesn't work with Gargoyle)
WZR-HP-G300NH2 (doesn't work with Gargoyle)
WZR-HP-G300NH (with rtl8366s - works with Gargoyle)
WZR-HP-G300NH (with rtl8366rb - doesn't work with Gargoyle)

Re: Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH VS. WZR-HP-AG300H
Just be aware that the G300NH has a newer revision with a different ethernet chip. The older version had the rtl8366s while the newer one has the rtl8366rb. If you happen to get the newer version, it won't work with the currently available Gargoyle firmware. At some point this should be fixed becaus...
