Re: Version 1.5.11 - Translations

I can't get DLNA/UPnP media servers to be visible. That used to be a problem with regular openwrt too (https://forum.openwrt.org/viewtopic.php?id=43160). The fix was to disable multicast snooping with: echo "0">/sys/devices/virtual/net/br-lan/bridge/multicast_snooping This command does no...

Re: Version 1.5.11 - Translations

using xfitiny comcast can anything work can connect to gargoyle Not understanding - are you having issues with Gargoyle and your Comcast Xfinity router? The issue might be that the newer Comcast Routers have IPV6 capability but I think currently IPV4 is what's supported with Gargoyle You might have...

Check that thread for info

Also check the OpenWRT Wiki for the WR741ND

You will have to recover via Serial Recovery

Re: TP-Link WDR3600 back to stock

http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl- ... rie.u-boot

Read that part of the wiki

Some of it is in French but you should be able to use a
translating engine on the web

Looks like you have to recover via serial recovery / u-boot

Re: Which router for 500Mbps connection

For that kind of speed, you may need a commercial router or consider
using an x86 based machine. I don't think router manufacturers
consider that type of speed for the home user as most Doc-sis 3.0
modems usually only hit around 150 MBPS max for capability.

Re: Router with Good Range with Gargoyle Support

Gargoyle is based on OpenWRT underneath the GUI You need to find a fully OpenWRT supported router that works with the Backfire OpenWRT release (Not Trunk releases) in order to have Gargoyle support it. I think the WNDR3700's are your best bet right now for Gargoyle support and close to what you are ...

Re: Version 1.5.11 - Translations

Confirmed! The image for the D-Link DIR-601 (and probably DIR-600 as well) is too large by about 100K I used to compile a bunch of OpenWRT releases for it and found out by trial and error that the firmware image cannot be larger than 3,500,000 bytes for the sysupgrade version I think what happens i...

Re: [SOLVED!!] DIR-601: bricked after flash of 1.5.11

http://www.gargoyle-router.com/phpbb/vi ... &start=100

See my post

The 1.5.11 firmware is too big for the DIR-601 and probably DIR-600

More features would need to be stripped out of the firmware file
for it to keep being supported

Almost time to retire these routers!

Re: USB drive encryption, Amazon Glacier support

http://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/hardware/cryptographic.hardware.accelerators Read that Quick answer: a regular home router will never be powerful enough to make it feasible to mount an encrypted drive The throughput would be horrendously slow Encryption is VERY cpu intensive and a regular router just wo...
