Re: troubleshooting no WAN IP
Thanks again. Swapping the WAN port with a LAN port seems to have done the trick. I'm using my WDR3600 right now. $ sdiff -s network.working network.orig option ports '1 2 3 4 0t' | option ports '2 3 4 5 0t' option ports '5 0t' | option ports '1 0t'

Re: troubleshooting no WAN IP
What make and model of router? The only real test is to convert another LAN port to a WAN port and plug it in. If it starts working, device itself is fine and you’ve got a dead port. This is done through the network config on the command line. It's a TP-Link WDR3600 (n600) v1.4. Is the n/w port re-...

troubleshooting no WAN IP
Last week we had a huge thunderstorm which seemed to sit directly over my house. My router (tp-link wdr3600 v1.4; running 1.1.12) looked OK but couldn't get a WAN IP from my ISP. I also couldn't ping the modem LAN IP at 192.168.100.1 from a PC. I plugged an old router in and all was good. I was back...

Re: WNDR3700v4 Wireless Dropouts *UPDATE*
I can't help on this but I have a similar problem on a WNDR3600 which I assume is similar to the 3700. Also running 1.12 and I, too, have enforced IPs (configured from connected hosts) My problem is that my 2.4GHz wifi devices show as connected but they can't reach either the internet or the router...

Re: Troubleshooting Dynamic DNS
The old URL was still working for me. I don't know that it really needs an update... I just tested again and the old version works for me too but only after I change my password to one without '%' in it. Didn't test any other special characters. I was wondering if the unescaped_variables setting wo...

Re: Troubleshooting Dynamic DNS
For a simple URL like that, don't use meta url. Just place it directly in the url_template. Thanks for pointing out the updated API, I'll look at it shortly. Thanks... that did the trick. New paragraph is: service freedns.afraid.org url_template https://freedns.afraid.org/dynamic/update.php?[[TOKEN...

Troubleshooting Dynamic DNS
Running 1.11.0 on TL-WDR3600 v1 I have a dynamic domain at afraid.org but I can't successfully add it to the DDNS service. How do I effectively troubleshoot? The paragraph in /etc/ddns_providers.conf was set to: service freedns.afraid.org url_template [[META_URL]] required_variables domain username ...
