Re: Speed vs bufferbloat and looking for some advice...
Anyone have a clue why enabling QoS on the upload side makes the bufferbloat go to crap again Setting Upload total bandwidth value too high could lead to that. Make sure you set your " Total Bandwidth " values accordingly to this tutorial . is my 30-40% loss in speed normal when QoS is en...

Re: Help with VOIP (magicjack) QOS?
This would probably fall into the same scenario of online gaming, where it should get priority over other devices when the link is congested.

Use Gargoyle with an existing Modem (Cable/DSL/Satellite/3G/4G)
If you want to avoid double NAT and you're able to put your ISP modem router into "Bridge Mode", while still being to access it through the Gargoyle router, this tutorial is probably the way to go.

Re: Measure Internet Speed directly through the router
I see. Then it's a probably not a good idea to run this on slow routers with a good connection (>50MB maybe?). As reference, I've tested this on an Archer C7 (720Mhz) + 50MB/6MB link while monitoring CPU usage with "top", and it didn't seem to take that much CPU processing. Still need to t...

Measure Internet Speed directly through the router
I've been searching on the subject in the past couple of days, and thought it could be useful as a plugin or to anybody interested. speedtest-cli would be great for this, but since it relies on Python to work, it won't fit on the router. On the other hand, it's a great tool to measure internet speed...

Mind sharing your solution steps using iptables?setham wrote:I ended up using iptables to pre-route blocks of IPs or individual hosts to different DNS's.
Not pretty but easy to track and configure with scripts and custom config files.
Might help other users in the same/similar situation.
Thanks.

By "mocked up", you mean something like "gathered/collected"?
If so, great to know that you're still interested in this!
