Re: 1.11.0.x gargoyle-ispy 2019-April-13 21
In other words: Have all of the rules to be met to gain access, or has just one rule to be met? Just one rule is enough - the rest is like default. I'd like to, but this client (and at least two or three others, different ones) doesn't offer much in ways of configurability. I do have a local time s...

Re: 1.11.0.x gargoyle-ispy 2019-April-13 21
I want to prevent 192.168.0.13 from having any internet access (except DNS and NTP, if I can't redirect the latter to my local time server). If you want IP 192.168.0.13 to only have access to DNS and NTP, the rule should look like this: https://i.imgur.com/QVIO3Gr.png The firewall works well, but i...

In language manager, when a second language is installed, the default language (english) can be selected, but the name isn't displayed in the list. Oh, I guess I already understood you. Sorry. After rebooting the router: https://i.imgur.com/Ay8zTej.png After pressing "Refresh Plugins": ht...

Re: 1.11.0.x gargoyle-ispy 2019-April-13 21
I want to block some devices, but if I do so, save the setting and open it up again for editing, it switches back from "nothing allowed" to "everything allowed". A screenshot and a more detailed description will help us. Even with a setting to block everything but the global DNS...

Re: Semi-bricked Archer C7 V2
Mostly damaged bandwidth usage data will cause looping, so I led you this way. But as you say, backing up more often does not hurt, so you would have something.

Re: Semi-bricked Archer C7 V2
mount_root takes a second or two, but seems to do nothing. Yes, it just happens, but the command will be executed in the background. a) FAILSAFE MODE is very limited. b) mount_root gives you access to the "/overlay" folder (in this directory is all configuration) after entering "moun...

Re: Semi-bricked Archer C7 V2
O.K. step by step: 1. Turn on the router 2. when the LED is blinking, press reset = LED will blink even faster. 3. You got into "FAILSAFE MODE" and in this mode connect with ssh/telnet (you have already got there once) 4. Run the command: mount_root rm -r /overlay/upper/usr/data/* &&am...

Re: Semi-bricked Archer C7 V2
Something fishy has been going on here... I've attached the external drive to my Linux PC. Trying to backup it, I got an error message. Started e2fsck, and that one reports thousands of multiply-claimed blocks. I'll have to purge the affected directories, as there's no way to know which of the file...

Here's the first tutorial:

or
If you get into ssh, run this line and the loop should stop.
This will erase the damaged bandwidth usage data and the use of the web pages.

Re: Turning off DNS Caching
Yes, dns cache is used 2x - 1x router, 1x Windows.
Q: Did you disable the Windows DNS service (dns cache) by my previous tips?
