Re: Who is running the Mother of All Gargoyle Deployments?
I just had an interesting thought... it's possible to deploy the Gargoyle as the router and QOS device, and then also deploy the NetEqualizer as a network reporting tool. The trick would be to turn off the Equalizing process and turn on the NTOP reporting to get the very detailed reports of exact sp...

Re: Who is running the Mother of All Gargoyle Deployments?
Appreciate that reply... After a lot of testing last night I determined that the Lite can easily equalize up to 50Mbit; processor loads are fine. The issue was also running NTOP reporting constantly in the background. This is 3 times as taxing as the equalization itself. So we just don't run NTOP co...

Who is running the Mother of All Gargoyle Deployments?
I'm running NetEqualizer in a 262-room hotel setting right now. I just deployed a Gargoyle on TP-Link 1043ND to a bar/restaurant with 12Mbit and 40 concurrent users. Not so many users; loads are under control. Circuit is infrequently maxed out. Processor loads negligible. At a 262-room hotel though,...

Re: Gargoyle not logging into a webpage:Failed to Load error
This problem went away. I was using the Cradlepoint with open sessions into the device, switched routers without touching my sessions (with live updating graphs) and lo and behold the graphs resumed updating I then tried to open a new tab and log in and it works. Hope it holds. All is well in the wo...

Re: Gargoyle not logging into a webpage:Failed to Load error
getting these at first as well:
Error 15 (net::ERR_SOCKET_NOT_CONNECTED): Unknown error.
then it rolls into a constant
Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE): The server closed the connection without sending any data.
has anybody seen this?

Gargoyle not logging into a webpage:Failed to Load error 324
I have a remote network appliance at a hotel that I log into via HTTP 8080. Since I switched to Gargoyle I get an error upon trying to log into it. Strangely, I'm able to go through this same device via port forwards on the same address and log into other equipment. When I switch out the Gargoyle ro...

Re: Using Connection Limits to defeat torrents
Looking at the screens they look pretty basic with not a lot of flexibility. There does not seem to be much you can really do from them. Of course since you have Linux underneath there is a lot that can be done with custom scripts but that is complex. Yes, intentionally. This is a product where the...

Re: Using Connection Limits to defeat torrents
re connecting...try again http://118.137.159.69:8443 We've been connection from open Internet from different points around this country today/tonight and I did try it through my 3G connection on my phone prior to posting to make sure it works. It's possible it's an Int'l issue but I doubt it. Any ve...

Re: Using Connection Limits to defeat torrents
Re Using connection limits to control P2P does have drawbacks as you noted. The P2P application cannot work properly, the computer running the P2P cannot even browse properly even though there is plenty of bandwidth available. So while you seem satisfied with this approach it seems not very elegant ...
